Update- 3rd June
Last night on Friday night Smackdown Kurt Angle faced Rey Mysterio in his farewell match. Paul Heymen was at ringside to watch. Mysterio reversed the ankle lock many times and tried many possum pins on Angle but in the end it was Angle who as a result of a count out. When Mysterio ran at him Angle caught him a produced a belly to belly over the rope which was to be the end of the match.

Update- 22nd May
Judgement Day! Rey said he would walk in world heavyweight champ and walk out world heavyweight champ and he was right!

Throughout the entire match, JBL bullied the World Champion, flaunting his size advantage. The United States Champion repeatedly slapped Mysterio in the face and busted him wide open, embarrassing him in front of several members of his family that were sitting ringside. But Mysterio endured it all and never gave up.

Mysterio looked to be gaining momentum after hitting a 619, but when he went for the West Coast Pop, the wily JBL pulled referee Nick Patrick in the way, forcing him to take the blow. The United States Champion went on the offensive, but after Rey kicked out of a powerbomb, JBL levelled referee Charles Robinson who took over the officiating duties.

Frustration consumed JBL as he went to the outside and grabbed a chair. But before he could use his weapon of choice, Mysterio kicked the steel chair into JBL’s face leaving him prone for the 619. Mysterio followed it up with a picturesque frog splash that surely made Eddie Guerrero proud, and pinned JBL to retain the World Championship. Mysterio once again overcame all odds, and his dream ride somehow continues. Chavo Guerrero, who was at the event to give Rey a pep talk before the match, came to the ring and celebrated with the World Champion, as both pointed upwards to the sky in memory of the late, great Eddie.

Mysterio is on Cloud 9 after his improbable victory, and WWE.com was able to catch up with the champ after his match.

“I proved me being champion is no fluke. I had fire in my heart,” said Mysterio. “JBL had disrespected me, my family and my people. This is what kept me going, making JBL pay. Every day’s a dream, and when it’s over, I’ll have no regrets. It’s been a helluva ride, but a ride I get to stay on for a bit longer.”

Update- 20th May
Last night on Friday night Smackdown Rey Mysterio took on Kane from Raw. Kane came from backstage as JBL asked Rey what date it is and replied "May 19th". Then Kane came storming from backstage to destroy Rey but then came on the freaky music saying "may 19th". Kane went to the ropes battering his head and then Rey got up and connected with the 619! As he attempted the pickin' da dime, Kane caught his throught and chokslamed him. Then Kane stopped and JBL came in the ring and told Kane to finish him off. Kane ignored him then JBL said "he was the one that said may 19th". Kane looked at JBL with wide and eyes and chokslamed him as well.

Update- 15th May
Tempers flared during the Judgment Day Press Conference in Phoenix this afternoon, as a melee nearly broke out between United States Champion JBL and World Champion Rey Mysterio. Michael Cole, who hosted the press conference, told me that “I have never been at a press conference with this much tension and animosity, and I thought those two were going to brawl.”

JBL took the stage first, and he proceeded to badmouth the crowd. An Eddie Guerrero chant broke out, and the United States Champion went on a tirade about how he beat Eddie and would beat Rey at Judgment Day. “I respected Eddie Guerrero, but I don’t respect Rey Mysterio,” JBL said, “and I will beat Rey’s ass because I am the best professional wrestler of all-time.”

As World Champion Rey Mysterio came to the stage, he and the United States Champion had a staredown. JBL belittled Mysterio, saying “You’re pathetic and you make me sick.” After thanking the fans for coming out, Rey told JBL that he did not respect him either. As another Eddie chant then broke out, JBL reminded the World Champion that “these fans don’t care about you, they won’t even chant your name!”

When Rey threw it back at JBL, however, things broke down. “You have others do your dirty work for you, JBL,” the champion said, “like Mark Henry and The Great Khali. What’s the matter, do you not have the cojones to fight me yourself?” At that point, the United States Champion got up and made an advance at Mysterio, but he was held back.

WWE producers became concerned, as they feared that security would have to get involved. JBL settled down, but later made another pair of advances at Mysterio; fortunately, the Superstars on stage took it upon themselves to police the situation, as Booker T and Mark Henry grabbed JBL and pulled him off the stage. JBL finally told Rey he’d see him on Sunday before storming off.

After it was over, Cole was still aghast at what he had just seen. “I can’t believe that something like this would happen. I never thought I’d say this, but thank God for Booker T and Mark Henry. If they didn’t grab JBL, who knows what would’ve happened.”

As if tensions weren’t already high enough surrounding the World Heavyweight Championship match at Judgment Day, what happened at the press conference only solidifies the theory that it will be a knock-down, drag-out affair this Sunday night.

Update- 12th May
Rey Mysterio was manhandled just like funaki in his home of town of San Diego last night. Right from the start Khali was on top (more match coverage).

Update- 11th May
I have decided to make a siggy or a wallpaper for every match Rey is involved in. Hopefully this will improve my graphic making skills. I will start with Rey's match against the Great Khali.

Update- 9th May
As Judgement Day rapidly approaches or if your like me couldn't come soon enough I have made some graphics exclusively for Judgement Day.

Update- 6th May
Rey Mysterio said he would take on anyone anytime and JBL made him keep that promise. He goaded him into facing Mark Henry last night Rey was defeated. As Rey was connected with the 619 he went for the west coast pop but Mark Henry caught him finished Rey off with the worlds strongest slam (more match coverage). JBL later said that if Rey still wanted to keep his promise he would take on the 7 foot 3 monster, The Great Khali. Will Rey survive?

Update- 2nd May
Rey Mysterio will be in the main event of Judgement Day. Smackdown GM, Theodore Long announced it will be the United States Champion vs. the World Heavyweight champion for the World Championship. It will be on Sunday the 21st of  May. It is the only match confirmed for Judgement day so far.

Update- 29th April

Last night Rey Mysterio still held the World Heavyweight Championship. It was a Angle who was looking better. He was stalking Rey and was going for the Angle slam but Rey countered, pushed him in the back and connected with the 619. As he was going for the Springboard seated senton Angle caught him and turned it into an ankle lock. Just as it looked like Rey was about to tap Mark Henry came in and broke up the ankle lock. The ref called for the bell but Henry wasn't finished yet. He tossed Rey and Kurt out the ring but went for Angle. He lay Angle on the post and charged at him. Then brought out the table lay Angle on it and went to stand on the apron. He took a run up and jumped on Kurt.
